Embassy Freight Services - Case Study
The Embassy Freight Group is one of the largest independent freight forwarding and logistics company in the world. Headquartered in Essex, they have over 45 offices across all continents with a combined turnover in excess of $300 million. They are very experienced in the Chinese market and they travel there regularly to maintain their local network of partners. In November 2009 they decided to join an Essex County Council mission to make new contacts in the Jiangsu Province.

Thanks to the longstanding relationship between the Council and the Provincial Government in Jiangsu, two quality appointments with Nanjing government trading partners were organised for Embassy Freight. They are currently working with both companies and aiming to become their supplier for some of the products they trade in the cosmetics and baby milk powder industries. The deals look promising and the expected value is £160k per year in the first instance.
